After 8 years of patient facing practice, I was eager for an opportunity where I would be able to implement my skills behind the scenes of the patient care experience to positively impact our community on a larger scale. Since joining Chiricahua my goal has been to enhance the level of care our patients receive before they are scheduled with our providers and after they leave our clinics. Our departments are always striving to do better than the day before, supporting changes to improve the satisfaction of our patients and staff, as well as fostering an environment where innovation is applauded. CCHCI has proven itself to be bursting with opportunities to fulfill one’s purpose, to make a difference in one life or the lives of many at any given moment, it’s truly a remarkable organization that I’m proud to be part of.
Samantha Morehouse, MA, is originally from a small town in upstate New York and relocated to Arizona after completing her master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at St. Lawrence University. Prior to joining Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. (CCHCI), she spent 8 and a half years working in the Douglas community as a counselor for a private company as well as supervising their programs for the state of Arizona.
Samantha started at CCHCI as our Clinical Navigation Supervisor, overseeing the Care Coordination team in accordance with the patient centered medical home, including addressing barriers to care such as lack of transportation, scheduling assistance, connections to community resources, as well as outreach efforts to close gaps in patient care. She is now CCHCI’s Clinical Navigation Systems Manager, overseeing the Care Coordination team, Women’s Health team, as well as the Medical Records and Referrals departments. Her efforts have been focused on increasing efficiency in workflows, updating policies and procedures, strengthening collaboration within the company as well as with outside agencies, improving data collection, and integrating new technologies to modernize processes within each department.
