I have worked in public service for over 30 years and there is no greater satisfaction than to serve and help people in need. Chiricahua affords me the opportunity to help people every day because they provider supportive resources that I am happy and exited to pass on to those in need.
I grew up in a small town in Nebraska (Elgin). A town of 800 people. When I became a young adult and knowing that I wanted to help people, I thought a good place to start would be people who had criminal behaviors. However, where I lived, the crime rate was so low that there was no probation/parole services in the area. After visiting Arizona on vacation, I decided to move to Tucson. I began my career in law enforcement in 1986 working in the Arizona State Prison Complexes. My career (and the dangers of working in prisons) led me to become a case manager, where I felt I could make the largest impact on people in need. In 2016, because of my case management experience/background, I was able to get a job with Chiricahua as a Care Coordinator. Subsequently, I have been promoted through the chain of command to where currently I am the Clinical Quality Manager, supervising Care Coordination, Women’s Health, Value Based Contracts and Chiricahua Cares Funds.
