Integrated Behavioral Health & Counseling

Main Image

At Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. (CCHCI), your mental wellness is as important as your physical health. We provide both individual and family counseling for those aged 6 and older.
We are helping patients manage many common issues (whether diagnosed or not) including:

  • Behavioral Issues
  • Conduct Disorders
  • Oppositional Defiant Disorder
  • ADHD
  • ADD
  • Body Dysphoria
  • Trauma
  • Depression
  • Anxiety

Integrated Behavioral Health (IBH) is a new, proven effective and efficient methodology in which trained behavioral health providers work along side our medical providers to directly assist our patients with overcoming barriers to better manage their medical conditions. IBH providers work with our patients and their specific medical conditions to provide practical yet proven suggestions for them to have better health outcomes and increased overall health in all areas (medically and mentally). This is completed at no extra cost to the patient and happens during the medical visit. The best way to summarize Integrated Behavioral Health Program is that CCHCI is in the business of taking care of the Whole Person in a teamwork model, rather than the old model in which a medical doctor tries to do it all. CCHCI also offers a Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program to support those who have developed a drug dependency (including opioids) and those who suffer from chronic pain. The MAT program at Chiricahua Community Health Centers across Cochise County combines Case Management, Counseling and Treatment with the use of Buprenorphine (Suboxone). MAT Program Counseling

I was drawn to work for the CCHCI by the enthusiasm of the staff to provide good care for their patients and community overall. They don’t just talk about good care, they provide it, to all people, and treat every patient as a valued person, regardless of why and how they present.

I believe in health for all because I feel like it is a universal right for every individual. Every individual in any country should be able to receive adequate health care for all their needs: physical, social, mental, emotional, and spiritual which makes us whole. Health care should focus on the whole person as everything is interrelated. I believe preventive care is the key to helping our communities. The CCHCI mission of building healthy communities is important to me because we all depend on one another, it’s all about the human connection with others. By making sure that we are focused on building healthy communities, we are also taking care of one another.

This organization was founded on the principle of bringing quality health care to even the most needy and vulnerable. While anyone can experience behavioral health difficulties, it is especially prevalent among those with the least access to essential resources. I love that Chiricahua can help bring these essential services to those who need it most.
