Our Community Health Workers play a crucial role in connecting vital healthcare services to some of our most vulnerable and remote communities. Recently, two of our Community Health Workers, Martin and Erika, were honored by the Arizona Community Health Workers Association. They were recognized for their exceptional efforts in going above and beyond—sometimes even up a mountain—to care for our patients. We deeply appreciate the commitment our Community Health Workers have to the people of Cochise County.

Chiricahua is committed to delivering healthcare to everyone in Cochise County, using innovative and unique strategies. Our dedicated team works hard to reach the most vulnerable community members, providing health services wherever needed, including food banks, shelters, and farm fields. Community Health Initiatives Include: Migrant & Seasonal Farmworker Program: Since 1996, Chiricahua has been proud to serve farmworkers, recognized as a Federally Qualified Health Center and a center for migrant and seasonal farmworkers. We use a community-based approach with lay health workers (promotoras) who are trained to educate, support, advocate, and provide basic health services in their communities. Our team is committed to improving the lives of those in the agricultural industry, often hearing heartfelt thanks such as, "Thank you for caring about us." Health Fair Participation: Chiricahua’s Community Health Workers are frequently present at local health fairs and events, offering free blood pressure checks, blood sugar screenings, and cholesterol readings. They also provide first aid stations at public events upon request.
