I grew up in Bisbee and no matter where I moved as a young adult, this was home to me. The community has given so much to me and to be able to give back is important. Contributing to the mission of CCHCI through being a board member is truly an honor that I hold dear as the organization and employees strive to provide affordable healthcare for everyone.

Since joining the Board of Directors, I have truly become aware of how CCHCI has risen to meet the tremendous need for affordable and quality healthcare in the rural areas of Cochise county, and how we have succeeded in accomplishing our mission with compassion and distinction. Not only are the healthcare providers excellent, but we also have a leadership team with vision and a support staff that cares.

Access to quality healthcare is a pillar of any healthy community. As an economic developer the mission of CCHCI could not be more important. This vital service is the most critical in rural communities. It allows patients to focus on getting better and not focusing on where to get healthcare.

As a volunteer and President of the Community Food Pantry of Benson’s Board, I am able to meet and interact with many people. Through those brief interactions a lot is learned about the people and their needs. Food and health go hand in hand. I am honored to be on the board of CCHCI and to let people know of the excellent services available at Chiricahua. Services that are available for all people. If you want to truly help the community, you have to help in all areas that are lacking. The mission statements of CCHCI and the Pantry are synonymous.

I believe that one of our goals in life is to share with everyone the knowledge that we have earned during our life. As a Knight of Columbus, my commitment is with my community to help it with its necessities. Consequently, when one of the members from the Knights of Columbus invited me to be a part of CCHCI and after reading the Mission of CCHCI "Health for all" and how it is committed to expanding healthcare in Cochise County... I wanted to be part of it.

The mission of ‘Health for All’ speaks to me because it addresses one of our most basic shared human needs. Growing up professionally as an emergency responder, I was provided the opportunity and privilege of being able to offer help to anyone who called with an emergency. My team and I were able to respond and provide our best efforts to people wherever they called from regardless of need, without a second thought of their ability to pay. Chiricahua’s mission takes that passion to the next level and focuses on helping patients get and stay health before it becomes an emergency. Health for All means exactly what it sounds like. If you have a healthcare need, Chiricahua will help.
