I believe that quality and affordable healthcare should be available to anyone who wants it. Community Health Centers help to make that possible. Interacting with the interesting and varied people of Cochise County has helped me to grow both personally and professionally.
I am the eldest of eight children. My father, although disabled by blindness as a child, was an expert carpenter who went on to complete his PhD in Sociology. I learned at an early age the intricate link between struggle and greatness. Since 1977 I have worked with women who are in their childbearing years. I understand those to be some of the toughest yet most wonderful years of a women’s life. I worked for the U.S. Indian Health Service for eight years in Medical-surgical, Labor and Delivery, and the Newborn Nursery.
Outside of work, I pursue many interests, including botany, natural history, and the giber arts. I belong to the Wilderness Guides Council and have attended their International Gatherings for Rites of Passage in Wilderness in England, the Chiricahua Mountains, and Ukraine. I am a past president of the Bisbee Fiber Arts Guild. My goal is to continue to serve.
