Chiricahua Mobile Now Serving Winchester Heights Community Center

PRESS RELEASE – FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CHIRICAHUA COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTERS MOBILE MEDICAL CLINIC NOW AT WINCHESTER HEIGHTS COMMUNITY CENTER ON WEDNESDAYS
WILLCOX, AZ (January 14, 2019) – Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. has moved their mobile health clinic operations to the new Winchester Heights Community Centers at 5815 W. Cameron Dr. Willcox after serving patients at the Brown Country General Store for the past several years. The Chiricahua Mobile Clinic is open to all patients every Wednesday at the Winchester Heights Community Center from 9:00 am – 4:00 pm.
Chiricahua was a member organization of the steering committee for the Winchester Heights Community Center. Bringing mobile care to that center was always the intention since the construction announcement. All ages of community members are welcomed and encouraged to seek medical care at the Chiricahua Mobile Clinic while they are at the Winchester Heights location.
Susan Lange, RN, Chiricahua Community Programs Director said of the Winchester Heights community during the construction, “They needed a place for people to congregate. A place for advocacy, a place for education, a place for the food bank to distribute, and soon, a place for this community to receive medical care.”
The Chiricahua Mobile Clinics is a full-service medical office on wheels. Providers on the mobile provide preventative medical care, same day or sick appointments, general physical exams for all ages, basic medical labs, vaccinations, coordination of specialty care, family planning services, and insurance eligibility assistance.
New patients may register at any Chiricahua location, or on the mobile clinic during office hours. Minors must be registered as a patient by a parent or guardian before their initial visit. Chiricahua accepts all medical insurances and offers a sliding fee discount program to those who qualify.
Heidi Dove, Mobile Program Administrator, said, “We are excited to be serving patients from the heart of the Winchester Heights community. Mobile medical care is really about bringing the care directly to the people. This new location is a great example of accomplishing that goal.”
Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. is a mission-driven Federally Qualified Health Center and is a tax exempt not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization. It was founded as a grassroots community effort in 1996 as makeshift clinic in Elfrida’s small community center and has since grown to be the largest primary care organization in southeastern Arizona. Chiricahua Community Health Centers currently has ten locations in Benson, Bisbee, Douglas, Elfrida and Sierra Vista and five mobile units that serve greater Cochise County.
