Why I Believe in the Mission of CCHCI

The vision of Chiricahua Community Health Centers is to provide "Health for all." I am excited to promote health management through dispensing medication, offering patient counseling, and ensuring appropriate therapeutic outcomes for all.

DAVID'S BACKGROUND

I grew up in the small mining community of Globe, Arizona. As a young boy I would accompany my father to visit his chemistry lab. Gaining an appreciation for chemistry was the catalyst that ultimately inspired me to become a pharmacist. I attended Pharmacy school at Roseman University of Health Sciences in Henderson, Nevada. Upon graduation I accepted a position with an independent pharmacy in Douglas, Arizona. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and have found great satisfaction serving the diverse group of patients found inside Cochise County. Outside of work I am a dedicated family man. I enjoy spending time with my wife and our two sons. Our recreational activities range from family trips, enjoying the outdoors, and relaxing movie nights.

Why I Believe in the Mission of CCHCI

As a resident of a rural community in Cochise County, I have fallen in love with the area and the people that reside here. I understand the challenges associated with bringing healthcare to a rural population. My wife recruited me to CCHCI with stories of how well they implement "Health For All" and how I can make a difference in the community. I look forward to working with all patients regardless of background and hope to have a positive impact in their lives to bring about health for all.

CODY'S BACKGROUND

I was born in Okinawa, Japan and lived there till my father was transferred back to Arizona when I was 3. I have lived all Arizona in big cities and small towns including Mesa, Thatcher, Joseph City, Tucson and most recently Benson. I am married to my beautiful wife, Sarah, who I met at the University of Arizona. She is also a pharmacist here at CCHCI. We hope that Southern Arizona will be our home for a long time as both of our parents and all of our siblings live here. My hobbies include hunting, fishing, camping, and riding dirt bikes or side by sides. If it has a motor or you can do it outside, I’m there.

ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

I attended Joseph City High School and then completed my undergraduate work at Eastern Arizona College. I attended pharmacy school at the University of Arizona College of Pharmacy.

As healthcare providers, it is our duty to care for patients. However, sometimes financial barriers prevent people from getting the care and medications they may desperately need. Chiricahua’s mission of “Health for All” helps people overcome these barriers with many programs that assist people with getting healthcare and medications needed for prevention and treatment. I am excited to be part of the team at Chiricahua, where I can help with this mission.

DANIELLE'S BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in a small town in rural Western Kansas. After high school graduation, I attended Kansas State University for my pre-pharmacy courses and then went on to get my pharmacy degree from the University of Kansas. I moved to Louisiana after pharmacy school graduation and practiced retail pharmacy for a little over a year. I then moved to Arizona and have been practicing retail pharmacy in the Sierra Vista community for many years.

Why I Believe in the Mission of CCHCI

I am excited to be in an environment that allows Health for All and will go above and beyond to provide the care. Chiricahua is providing health care services to patients that may have otherwise given up on getting quality medical, dental, and pharmacy services. As part of the team, I can now help make sure that patients can get medications needed and not leave empty handed because of cost.

JAMIE'S BACKGROUND

I was born in Pennsylvania and discovered Arizona later in life.  I decided after pharmacy school in Virginia to return and enjoy the Grand Canyon State.

Why I Believe in the Mission of CCHCI

Growing up in a rural community and now finding myself residing in a rural community as an adult, I love that Chiricahua’s mission is to provide “Health for All.” This is such an incredible mission, and it can mean something different to so many people. However, at the end of the day, the goal is to provide affordable, quality, caring health services to everyone in need including those living in truly remote areas of Cochise County. I love that Chiricahua gives back to the community and is able to reach individuals that would not receive these services otherwise.

SARAH'S BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in Springerville, Az where I was able to complete an associate degree while in high school and found my passion for pharmacy while working as a pharmacy cashier at the local pharmacy. I then moved to Tucson, Az where I completed an additional 2 years of undergraduate courses at the University of Arizona before being accepted into U of A College of Pharmacy. I moved to Cochise County a few years after graduation from pharmacy school and began searching for a company that would allow me to have the greatest impact on my community and provide quality care to patients that I serve. I am so excited to be a part of the Chiricahua team and look forward to serving my local community.

Trevor'S BACKGROUND

Cochise County has been home for most of my life. I love the desert people of southern Arizona. My father has been a pharmacist for almost 30 years. He introduced me to the profession “that has allowed home to improve the lives of so many people.” I hope to continue to follow in his footsteps and be a means of great, helping others to improve their health and wellness. I feel Chiricahua gives me this opportunity.

Why I Believe in the Mission of CCHCI

I believe in "Health for All" and the unique role Chiricahua plays in assuring that people get the healthcare they need. By breaking down barriers to healthcare such as low income, lack of transportation, cultural or language differences, and access to educational programs, Chiricahua provides a vital service to the health and well being of the under served populations in Southeast Arizona.

VICTOR'S BACKGROUND

I was born in Albuquerque, NM and was inspired to pursue the career of pharmacist by my uncle who owned an independent pharmacy in Espanola, a small town in Northern New Mexico. I always admired the accessibility he as a pharmacist had to the public and how pivotal his role was in improving the lives of his patients. Upon graduating from the University of New Mexico, I have been fortunate to oversee pharmacy practice throughout several western states including Arizona, California, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Texas and Washington. The diversity of such experience has given me a unique perspective on different techniques pharmacists use to connect with their patients in different geographical settings. I hope to apply the knowledge I’ve acquired to benefit the lives of those who trust us with their care. Most of the past two decades I have practiced pharmacy in Sierra Vista and
I have enjoyed serving our community.
