Coming from an immigrant family, I have witnessed and experienced firsthand the barriers that can make accessing healthcare difficult. I believe in CCHCI’s mission of “healthcare for all” because everyone deserves compassionate, accessible care regardless of their background or circumstance.
I was born and raised in South Korea. My family immigrated to the U.S. when I was 16 years old. I joined the U.S. Army in 2014 as an active–duty Behavioral Health Specialist, serving for 4 years, followed by 1 year in the U.S. Army Reserve. Working at the hospital, I grew my passion for patient care. Following my military service, I returned to school and finished my undergraduate degree in Biology at Claremont McKenna College. Afterward, I attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and received a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS).
