Banner Health Leaders Experience Whole-Person Care at Chiricahua Community Health Centers – News
Chiricahua Community Health Centers was delighted to host leadership from Banner Health Plans recently – including the Interim CEO and Executive Director of Medicaid Sarah Spiekermeier, MBA/HCA,CPM. Ms. Spiekermeier was joined by Ryan Thomsen, the Senior Director and Medicaid Program Director, Marcela Ruiz, Director of Practice Transformation, and Dr. Sandra Stein, the Chief Medical Officer.
Touring the Chiricahua Primary Care Campus in Sierra Vista, Banner leadership had the opportunity to interact with staff and patients in our dental, medical, and behavioral health clinics as well as the co-located pharmacy. This exposure to the full range of Chiricahua services – all collocated at adjacent clinics – reinforced the broad and deep array of comprehensive whole person care offered at Chiricahua.
Following the clinical visits, the discussion focused on how we can better serve patients throughout Cochise County. We brainstormed on how to increase access to care, keep patients enrolled, and together provide more services, to more families, in more places – it was an inspiring conversation!
From the modern facilities to the passionate staff, Banner leadership left our meeting with a renewed understanding of how the magic happens at Chiricahua!!!
