I work for Chiricahua because I believe in its ability to break down barriers to accessing healthcare in Cochise County. They put their clinics in areas that make it easy for the community members to get to and from the clinic, they made a point to house multiple specialties in the same clinic so our patients don’t have to make their way around town to get the healthcare they need, and Chiricahua has mobile clinics to reach community members who wouldn’t otherwise make it to our clinics. Chiricahua’s commitment to the healthcare for all is why I work here.
I grew up in Sierra Vista and ever since I was in high school, I volunteered at the local hospital. With that volunteer experience, I held positions in medical records, as unit clerk on a cardiac floor in a hospital in Tucson, and as a pharmacy technician. I was drawn to pharmacy by the pharmacists I worked with. I saw them work in the healthcare team to create a plan to help the patient get better that fit the patient’s goals and lifestyle. I wanted to be a part of that. I pursued a degree in pharmacy from the UofA. In pharmacy school I developed an interest in Rural Health which led me to gain clinical experiences throughout rural Arizona and the interior of Alaska. I hope to use this experience to serve my patients at Chiricahua and the communities in Cochise County.
