The mission of ‘Health for All’ speaks to me because it addresses one of our most basic shared human needs. Growing up professionally as an emergency responder, I was provided the opportunity and privilege of being able to offer help to anyone who called with an emergency. My team and I were able to respond and provide our best efforts to people wherever they called from regardless of need, without a second thought of their ability to pay. Chiricahua’s mission takes that passion to the next level and focuses on helping patients get and stay health before it becomes an emergency. Health for All means exactly what it sounds like. If you have a healthcare need, Chiricahua will help.
Mark has worked for the Fry Fire District since 1993. He promoted through their ranks and was promoted to Fire Chief in 2017. He is a designated Chief Fire Officer through the Center for Public Safety Excellence and a certified Paramedic. He is a strong advocate for community risk reduction policies that drive innovative health and wellness programs as well as aggressive wildfire fuel reduction projects. In addition to his work in emergency fire and emergency medical services, Mark is a certified peace officer and Reserve Deputy with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office where he has served with their SWAT team since 2000. He and his wife Ashley enjoy hiking outdoors with their children, Fulton and Charlotte, and are often accompanied by their boxer, Jennifer.
Academic Background
Mark completed undergraduate degrees in Fire Prevention Administration and Business Management. He received his juris doctorate from the University of Arizona, Rogers College of Law in 2007. In 2018 he completed the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program. He is a Certified Public Manager and currently working towards a certificate in Public Leadership.
