Maria “Andy” Kennah, MBA

I was born and raised in La Paz, the capital of Bolivia in South America.  During my high school senior year, I was an exchange student in Casper, WY and about that time I also met my future husband.  In the early 90’s, I returned to Bolivia to continue with my higher education and obtained both my undergraduate and Masters Degrees.  I returned to the United States in 2001, and since then, I have been working in Finance and Administration for non-profits, mainly in the health industry.

Early in my career I was first exposed to the Community Health Center model as a patient advocate.  Later, when I began working for the Community Health Center of Central Wyoming as the Director of Finance, I was able to see the integration and community focus of the work, and I immediately I knew that is what I wanted to do.  Over the next ten years, together with my family, we moved to different states and eventually back to Wyoming.  During this period, I served as Chief Financial Officer, Chief Administrative Officer, and even as Chief Executive Officer for health care organizations but always with a passion for working in the community health movement.

When the opportunity came to again work with a federally qualified health center, and one where my native language would be the preference of many patients, I jumped at the chance! In my many years of experience, I have never seen an organization that lives the mission/vision like we do here, and I am excited to be part of contributing to creating healthier communities in Cochise County.

We relocated from Wyoming with our five daughters, two grandchildren and three dogs. We are looking forward to exploring the county and making Cochise County our new home!
