Chiricahua Makes Its Mark at the United Nations General Assembly and Clinton Global Initiative
New York, NY — Chiricahua Community Health Centers, Inc. took part in the 79th United Nations General Assembly (#UNGA79), the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI), and the Concordia Summit, engaging in crucial discussions on health equity and prevention initiatives. Chiricahua received recognition from CGI’s Chris Thrasher for its innovative Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) program, which provides essential support to individuals in their journey toward recovery.
During the events, Chiricahua’s representatives had a brief but meaningful meeting with Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs to discuss shared priorities for improving healthcare access across the state. Additionally, they participated in a discussion led by Merck and the Sabin Vaccine Institute focused on the global effort to eliminate cervical cancer and boost HPV vaccination rates. The conversation underscored the importance of increasing vaccine uptake to reduce cervical cancer incidence worldwide.
Chiricahua’s involvement exemplifies its commitment to being “in the room where it happens,” bringing Arizona’s voice to the global stage to address pressing health challenges. #VivaChiricahua!
