Serving on the CCHCI’s Board of Directors is very important to me. It feels good to be involved in my community. I have experienced firsthand being uninsured, not being able to see a doctor or to take my child. I understand the helplessness that one feels while in these circumstances. As a board member, I will persevere to make sure that exceptional, affordable healthcare is accessible for all.

I see firsthand the outcome of children who do not have access to healthcare. I have seen parents try to negotiate the medical system and how difficult it can be. CCHCI is about providing access to these populations. I hope that by supporting CCHCI, I can help ensure that these problems will not affect the children in Cochise County.

Since joining the Board of Directors, I have truly become aware of how CCHCI has risen to meet the tremendous need for affordable and quality healthcare in the rural areas of Cochise county, and how we have succeeded in accomplishing our mission with compassion and distinction. Not only are the healthcare providers excellent, but we also have a leadership team with vision and a support staff that cares.

As a mother of a child who has a chronic medical condition, it is very important to me that I bring a parent's perspective to the table and offer my input. CCHCI has truly set themselves apart from others and we are leading by example. I am proud to be involved with CCHCI and am very enthusiastic about my role on the Board of Directors. If sharing my story can help other families to avoid the overwhelming troubles and helplessness that my family went through, then I feel my participation on this board is significant and well worth it.

I was once a single mother with no insurance. My son was very sick and the doctor would not see him because I owed $15. This experience made me a firm believer in taking care of children and those who cannot afford healthcare.
